Reopen an encounter to cancel a previously sent prescription
- Navigate to a patient’s closed or recently discharged encounter
- Click the "REOPEN ENCOUNTER" button to initiate the cancellation
- Select "CANCEL PRESCRIPTION" for the order or refill response
- Click "SUBMIT" to cancel the prescription. You have the option to undo the cancellation by selecting the "UNDO CANCELLATION"
NOTE: A prescription order can only be cancelled 48 hours after it was initially sent.
If you need to send the same or a new prescription, navigate to the Manage Patients tab and select "Prescribe" from the Menu icon for the patient. This will open a new encounter where you can select or search for a new medication.
